Mass Intentions
A Mass Intention is a unique form of intercessory prayer, focused on the community’s Eucharistic celebration. The practice of requesting a Mass to be offered for loved ones, living or deceased, is a beautiful and meaningful part of our Catholic tradition.
*** To allow everyone a fair chance to book special dates, a maximum of 10 Masses may be reserved per household per year.
Only ONE Mass intention will be accepted for each Mass. A Mass intention can be for one person, a married couple, a parent and child, or one family (Example: Jones Family) and may be requested for a variety of reasons -- in thanksgiving, for the intentions of another person (such as on a birthday or wedding anniversary) or, as is most common, for the repose of the soul of someone who has died.
St. Barbara Parish makes it easy to request Mass intentions. Just click on the link below to request an intention for a specific day/Mass, obtain a Mass card, and electronically send an optional donation. You will receive a confirmation email when your request has been approved.
Mass Intentions may also be requested by emailing parishoffice@saintbarbaraparish.org or calling the parish office at (805)682-4151ext. 102.
Payment is not required for a Mass intention. However, donations are always welcome and appreciated. The suggested donation is $25 per intention.
If you wish to have a Mass card sent to you, or to a friend or family member, be sure to provide the Name and Address of the recipient in the “Mass Card” field of the online form.
