Connecting with God in the Garden

Thank you to all who attended the post-Mass reception last Sunday in celebration of Fr. Daniel Barica’s 25th ordination anniversary! Fr. Daniel was delighted to be able to reconnect with so many long-time friends, and greatly appreciated all the kindness, hospitality and good wishes offered to him during his visit.

As you may know, the reception was held in the picnic courtyard/Monarch Butterfly Waystation, an area that was recently transformed into a lush garden walkway filled with flowers, birds and butterflies, thanks to Ed Heron and his amazing team of volunteers. During the reception, Fr. Daniel took the opportunity to bless the garden. This weekend’s Gospel focuses on Jesus’s power to heal, and gardens are wonderful places of healing and peace in a world rife with conflict. They can also be places to connect with God and creation and, therefore, perfect places to pray. You are invited to visit the butterfly garden and spend some time in quiet contemplation.

Our sincere and heartfelt THANKS to Fran Miller, Daniela Daoud, Karin McAuliff, Ed Heron, and all the superstars on the Hospitality team who volunteered their time to make Fr. Daniel’s reception such a big success!  God bless you!
